California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced the appointment of Rajesh Veera as Principal Analytics Engineer at the Office of Data and Innovation.
In the new role, Veera will serve as the lead expert on building efficient, flexible, and actionable data models for a variety of analytic purposes. Additionally, he will lead the development and documentation of modern analytic engineering patterns for the State.
A Pleasanton-resident, Veera has been the owner of AnalyticsFactoryLLC since 2023, where he has provided consulting services in data analytics. His prior roles include senior data engineer at Nervo Corp from 2020 to 2024 and data engineer at Shutterfly from 2015 to 2019. He also served as a data analyst consultant at Wells Fargo from 2014 to 2015.
Veera's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from India’s DVR College of Engineering and Technology and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Northwestern Polytechnic University.
This position does not require Senate confirmation, and the compensation is set at $156,000. The Office of Data and Innovation is tasked with improving digital experiences for all Californians.
