The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA) on Mar.3 issued a strong condemnation of President Donald Trump’s recent executive order designating English as the official language of the United States, while also rolling back language access policies across government agencies.

The executive order rescinds Executive Order 13166, originally signed by President Bill Clinton, which mandated that federal agencies ensure meaningful language access to critical services such as healthcare, education, and legal assistance for individuals with limited English proficiency.
