Telugu-language film ‘HanuMan’ has minted over US$24 million (₹200 crore) worldwide in ten days of its release.
A social media post on X by Mythri Movie Makers, one of the film’s distributors, revealed that the Prasanth Varma-directed film has "continued to soar higher at the box office."
Starring actor Teja Sajja, the film is produced by Primeshow Entertainment. It also features actors like Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty, and Vinay Rai.
Released on January 12, 2024, the film has been dubbed in multiple languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Set in the fictional village of Anjanadri, a dystopian hamlet, the film is based on a man “who accidentally attains superpowers clashes with one who is desperate to get his own.”
The music of the film is composed by Anudeep Dev, GowraHari, and Krishna Saurabh, while cinematography is done by Dasaradhi Sivendra, and visual effects are supervised by Venkat Kumar Jetty.
‘HanuMan’ marks the first of the future Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), a series of superhero films. A sequel titled ‘Jai HanuMan’ surfaced in the end credit of the film. The director had announced the pre-production work for the film sequel commenced during the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
The film's crew also donated approximately US$ 312,800 (₹2.6 crore) to the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
Actor Sajja was also seen in a science fiction romantic film ‘Adbhutham,’ while Sarathkumar featured in the Telugu film ‘Kota Bommali PS’, a remake of the Malayalam film ‘Nayattu.’
