Indian- American democrat and current member of the New York State Assembly representing the 38th district in Queens, Jenifer Rajkumar, has emerged as the financial frontrunner in the race for New York City Comptroller.
Rajkumar, who represents the neighborhoods of Glendale, Ozone Park, Richmond Hill, Ridgewood, and Woodhaven, raised over US$ 240,000 in just two months since launching her candidacy. This fundraising total is the highest among all candidates during the latest filing period, underscoring the momentum behind her campaign.

In 2020, Rajkumar made history as the first Indian-American woman ever elected to the New York State Legislature. Her current run for New York City Comptroller continues her trailblazing career, with widespread support bolstering her chances in the race.
