Ahead of World Heritage Day on April 18th, Monument Mitra Dalmia Bharat hosted a special evening at Delhi's iconic Red Fort, offering visitors a unique journey through the monument's rich history and architectural heritage. The initiative aimed to foster a deeper connection with India's cultural legacy through engaging storytelling.
The event commenced with a guided heritage walk from the Lahori Gate, led by historian and storyteller Anas Khan of Unzip Delhi. The walk focused on revealing lesser-known facets of the Red Fort, highlighting its architectural symbolism, diverse design influences from Persian principles and Hindu Shilpshastra, and forgotten narratives from the Mughal era. Visitors explored how the fort's original design intended to represent Jannat, or paradise on earth, through elements like floral motifs and spatial layouts that reflected profound cultural and philosophical ideas.
