Hindu Americans celebrate Ram Mandir Inauguration in Maryland

A mini car and bike rally was organised at a local Hindu Temple ahead of the January Inauguration

To commemorate the upcoming inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in Bharat, Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America and local Hindu temples in the Washington, DC, area organized a mini car and bike rally at a local Hindu Temple, Shri Bhakta Anjaneya Temple in Maryland.

The street in the United States that the riders rode on was named "Ayodhya Way" in honor of the inaugural ceremony. A large number of Hindu Americans from various age groups gathered to celebrate the opening of the temple. 

Mahendra Sapa, president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America DC chapter said another grand celebration will be hosted in Washington, DC area on January 20, 2024  with about 1000 American Hindu families. The celebration will include Ram Leela and bhajans (devotional songs to Bhagawan Shri Ram and his family), he stated.

The event will include a 45-minute reenactment of lord Ram's life by children of varying ages, told in a way that American-born children can understand, according to co-organizer Animesh Shukla. For many Hindu families and generations, remembering the historic inauguration of Ayodhya Mandir is crucial to becoming model citizens of American culture, according to Ankur Mishra, a local Hindu leader and second-generation American.

The event's co-organizer and a prominent Hindu leader in the area, Premkumar Swaminathan, serenaded the crowd with a Tamil hymn praising Lord Rama and extended invitations to all families to attend the celebration in the United States on January 20 and the inauguration in Ayodhya on January 22. Various other organizers shared their stories in Kannada,

Telugu, and other languages, eulogizing Lordi Ram as an inspiration to Hindu families worldwide. Car Rally organizer Krishna Gudipati invited all devotees to celebrate the celebration of Ayodhya Mandir  with a bigger car and motor bike rally.
