The Friends of Hindu University of America (HUA) DMV chapter hosted an inspiring event titled “Vision 2029” on May.23, at Admiral Hills in Vienna, Virginia. Narsimha Reddy Koppula, member of the Board of Trustees and chair of the Fundraising Committee of HUA, hosted the event at his home, in addition to gifting $100,000 to the organization.
This was the first ever event in the DMV area, which saw an enthusiastic gathering of around 60 attendees, all united in their support for HUA. The theme for this year centered around Ayurveda and Integrative Health.
Kalyan Viswanathan, HUA's president, outlined an ambitious five-year plan, detailing essential objectives and strategic measures to enhance the university's influence and outreach. His address underscored the significance of advancing a profound comprehension of Hindu traditions, culture, and philosophy through robust academic offerings and community involvement.
Notably, Dr Japobrata Choudhury made a generous pledge to donate $250,000 over the next five years. This substantial contribution will bolster HUA's mission and vision, facilitating the creation of new programs and scholarships to benefit students and scholars.
Esther Dhanraj, director of Community Outreach, also spoke at the gathering, sharing her personal journey with religion and faith. She emphasized the crucial role that academic institutions like HUA play in preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Hinduism.
The Vision 2029 event showcased the robust backing for HUA's mission and the shared dedication to furthering the university's objectives. The gathering concluded with an energetic discussion session, during which participants exchanged ideas and reaffirmed their ongoing support for the initiatives outlined in the Vision 2029 plan.
HUA is committed to offering education in Hindu philosophy, culture, and traditions, serving as a platform to deepen understanding and appreciation of Hinduism's global contributions through its diverse programs and initiatives.
