Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu extended his congratulations to JD Vance on becoming the Vice President-elect of the United States, highlighting the significance of this victory for the Telugu community.
Naidu acknowledged the historic milestone this victory brings, especially for Vance’s wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance, who will become the first woman of Telugu heritage to serve as the Second Lady of the United States. "I would also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Mr. @JDVance, on becoming the US Vice President-elect," Naidu wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
"His victory marks a historic moment, as Mrs. Usha Vance, who has roots in Andhra Pradesh, will become the first woman of Telugu heritage to serve as the Second Lady of the US. This is a moment of pride for the Telugu community around the world. I look forward to the opportunity to invite them to visit Andhra Pradesh," he added.
In a separate message, Naidu also congratulated Donald Trump on his successful presidential comeback. Reflecting on the strengthened ties between India and the US during Trump’s first term, Naidu expressed optimism for continued collaboration.
"I congratulate Mr. @realDonaldTrump on his victory in the US Presidential Elections and wish him success as he prepares to lead his country forward," Naidu stated. "His first tenure marked significant strengthening of the Indo-US partnership. With the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji and President Trump, I am confident our two nations will further strengthen their ties and foster greater cooperation."
