When the curtains flank, spotlights fade, silence settles, shame lingers like a lump in one’s throat or like that stubborn stain in the very fabric of our society that simply refuses to go away. ‘Shame’ – is not just a word. It's an emotion deeply felt by many in our country. It is this shame that author Neha Bhat delicately addresses in her debut book “Unashamed.”

Having traveled to diverse places, witnessed the complexities of the Indian psyche in particular, and lived in a culture that tries to normalize fear, anxiety, and repression, this clinical sex-focused trauma therapist believes that her book (which she calls a therapeutic journey) offers people struggling with shame a newfound ability to respond to it in a much better way.
