Kash Patel, an Indian-American lawyer and a staunch supporter of Donald J Trump, has attributed his success to the American dream. Speaking at the Trump inauguration on Jan.20, Patel reflected on his journey, stating, "I am not here because of the color of my skin; I am here because I earned my place, just as you earned yours. Together, we represent the best of what this nation can achieve."
Patel has been nominated to serve as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the Trump 2.0 administration. Having held several key positions within the US government, his confirmation is awaiting a Senate vote. Despite this, his dedication to the role and his vision for the future of the FBI are already evident.
At the event, Patel made a promise to those who serve the nation every day, from law enforcement officers to teachers, veterans, and first responders.
"With every fiber of my being, I promise you that those who selflessly serve this country will no longer be overlooked," he declared. "They will be reprioritized and elevated to the recognition they deserve."
Reflecting on his career, Patel emphasized his deep commitment to the Constitution, having served as a national security prosecutor, and public defender, and in roles such as President Trump’s Deputy Director of National Intelligence and Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense. "I swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, and I hope to take that oath again one day soon," he said. "We are ushering in a new era of change—a dynasty of hope and progress that will allow our children to live and thrive in the American dream."
Patel also shared his personal story, as the son of lawful immigrants who worked tirelessly to achieve success. "This American dream does not belong to me or any one person. It belongs to all of us," he stated. "I promise you this: I will never quit on your children or their children."
He urged the audience to show appreciation for those who serve their communities, saying, "Every time you see a law enforcement officer, a veteran, or a teacher, take a moment to shake their hand. Give them your gratitude and a bit of your time, because they give us all of theirs."
Patel acknowledged the challenges facing the nation, citing alarming statistics from the previous year: over 100,000 drug overdoses, 100,000 rapes, and 17,000 homicides. "This is unacceptable in the United States of America in 2025," he said, emphasizing the need for action.
Under the leadership of Donald Trump and JD Vance, Patel promised to work toward ending the "two-tiered system of justice" and the political weaponization of the intelligence community. "We will put the men and women of America first," he affirmed.
In closing, Patel called for unity and action: "So, my friends, there’s only one thing left to do: let’s get to work. Together, we will make this American dream shine brighter than ever."
Patel’s words reflect his unwavering commitment to the American dream and his vision for a future where service and sacrifice are recognized and rewarded.
