Arvind Krishna, chairman and CEO of IBM will deliver the keynote address at the South by Southwest (SXSW) 2025 Conference, which is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences.
The event, which is scheduled for Mar. 7-13 in Austin, Texas, will spotlight the rapid evolution of technology and its intersection with human creativity and connection.
Krishna’s keynote will focus on the convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing, a fusion poised to redefine industries and society. As the leader of one of the world’s foremost technology companies, Krishna will explore how businesses and communities can harness this technological shift to expand what is possible.
His address is expected to offer critical insights into how AI-quantum integration could transform problem-solving, optimization, and predictive analytics. Krishna, who has been at the helm of IBM since 2020, has been a key advocate for advancing AI ethics and promoting responsible AI adoption.
Among the newly announced featured speakers is Niall Firth, executive editor of MIT Technology Review, who will present the publication’s annual list of 10 breakthrough technologies. Firth’s session aims to shed light on emerging tech trends that will shape business and daily life.
The conference will also address the human side of technology, with Bumble CEO Lidiane Jones highlighting the role of tech platforms in fostering authentic human connections amid rising social isolation. Workplace expert Amy Gallo and futurist Rishad Tobaccowala will discuss strategies for navigating hybrid work models and reimagining the future of work.
