IIT Delhi, Kaspersky partner for cybersecurity education

By leveraging Kaspersky’s expertise, students will receive a comprehensive education that goes beyond traditional classroom learning

In an effort to revolunize cybersecurity education, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has entered into an agreement with Kaspersky, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions.

The collaboration, marked by Kaspersky’s newly launched academy alliance program for universities, aims to integrate the company’s expertise and latest technologies into the academic curriculum at IIT Delhi, said a release by the institute.

Commenting on the association, Naresh Bhatnagar, the dean of research and development at IIT Delhi, said the institute is the  first in the region to participate in this educational partnership program, that aims to address the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

The initiative seeks to enhance academic outcomes by providing students with hands-on experience and specialist training for teaching staff. The overarching goal is to cultivate a new generation of cybersecurity experts equipped to tackle the evolving challenges in the digital landscape.

The firm will focus on strengthening IIT Delhi’s information security programs through comprehensive skills development initiatives. The program will not only facilitate direct access to Kaspersky’s cutting-edge technologies but also provide a platform for collaborative research and development.

Evgeniya Russkikh, head of academic affairs at Kaspersky, highlighted the program’s all-encompassing nature, stating, “Kaspersky Academy Alliance is part of the company’s mission to drive the best cybersecurity education to build a safer world.”

Bhatnagar, expressed his optimism about the collaboration, stating, “This strategic partnership with Kaspersky reflects our commitment to providing world-class education that aligns with industry demands. Cybersecurity is a critical domain, and this collaboration will empower our students with practical skills and knowledge essential for success in the digital era.”
