The Student Alumni Interaction Cell at the Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi, with a longstanding tradition of recognising the accomplishments of its alumni spanning over a century, announced a group of Indian Americans as recipients of its Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award for the year 2023-24.
One of the distinguished awardees, Alok Gupta, currently serves as the senior associate dean of Faculty, Research, and Administration at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He is a recipient of the prestigious NSF CAREER Award in recognition of his research contributions in the field of dynamic pricing mechanisms on the internet.
Sudhir Singh, CEO and executive director of Coforge was also one of the recipients of the alumna award. He transitioned to the organization from Genpact, where he held the position of chief operating officer for the IT Services and Capital Markets Business. Before his tenure at Genpact, Singh dedicated almost a decade of his career to Infosys in the United States, where he assumed several responsibilities, focusing on sales and client portfolio management.
Manu Vora, who currently serves as the chairman and president of Business Excellence, Inc., a prominent global consulting firm specializing in quality management, was also recognized as one of this year's recipients of the alumni award. With a wealth of experience spanning over 46 years, he has provided leadership and guidance to Fortune 500 companies using the Baldrige Performance Excellence Award framework.
Vikash Agrawal, another honoree, serves as the executive chairman and co-founder of Levrx. In his current position, Agrawal is tasked with shaping the strategic course of the company. His extensive experience in digital health plays a vital role in realising the mission of Levrx through effective execution.
Soumyo Sarkar, the current CIO and portfolio manager at Sumit Capital, is also a recipient of the IIT Alumna Award. Before establishing Sūmit Capital, he held the position of managing director at Deutsche Bank and was the founder and head of the Deutsche Bank Matched Book Arbitrage Group from 1995 to 2009.
