The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced that the Indian men's and women's cricket teams will participate in the Asian Games 2023, which will take place in Hangzhou, China.
This will mark the first time that India sends teams to the Asian Games cricket competition. The Asian Games are scheduled to be held from September 23 to October 8 this year.
In the updates from the 19th Apex Council meeting, BCCI said that due to the men's ODI Cricket World Cup, which is set to begin in India on October 5, it will field a second-string side for the men's event at the Asian Games. However, a full-strength Indian cricket team will be available to compete in the women's event.
