India's U-19 cricket team defeated South Africa by two wickets in the semifinals of the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup on February 6 in Benoni, South Africa. Team India has advanced to the tournament's finals a record nine times, winning five of them.
India, who were chasing 249, won the match by a slim margin of two wickets with seven deliveries remaining. The five-time champs' run chase got off to a nervous start and were down four wickets in the 12th over (32/4.)

When things looked hopeless, captain Uday Saharan and Sachin Das put on an incredible fifth-wicket partnership of 171 runs. On the big stage, Das smashed a 96-run blowout, while Saharan scored 81 runs.
In the first inning, South Africa was called to bat and amassed a respectable total on the scoreboard. Lhuan Dre Pretorious, the wicketkeeper, hit a 102-ball 76 that featured three maximums and six boundaries. Richard Seletswane, who scored 64 runs off his bat, provided him with strong support. Under pressure, the pair struggled and put up 72 runs for the third wicket.
In their ninth ICC U-19 World Cup final, Team India, captained by Uday Saharan, will take on the winner between Australia and Pakistan. The World Cup final will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Benoni, South Africa.
