India ends Asian Games 2023 run with 107 medals
India's Asian Games 2023 medal tally is 107 medals - 28 gold, 38 silver and 41 bronze.

The Indian contingent finished the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China with a record-breaking 107 medal haul. They stood forth with a tally that included 28 gold, 38 silver, 41 bronze medals. Indian athletes and shooters were the most successful securing 29 and 22 medals respectively.
On the final day of action for India, the men's kabaddi team reclaimed their eighth gold medal by defeating Iran 33-29 in the final. The game was suspended for over an hour due to a referring decision, with the decision going in favor of India. The women’s team also finished top of the podium.
Shuttlers Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy made history in Hangzhou by winning India's first-ever badminton gold medal. The world No. 3 pair won against South Korea's Choi Sol Gyu and Kim Won Ho, marking their fifth title of the year.
This victory came after the Indian badminton players earned three medals in total, with Chirag-Satwik’s earlier win as part of the silver-winning men’s team and HS Prannoy’s bronze in men’s singles. Ace PV Sindhu’s quarter-final exit in women’s singles was disappointing but the overall result is India’s best-ever performance in Asian Games badminton.
The Indian men's cricket team secured the gold medal in the tournament after the final against Afghanistan was called off due to persistent rain. India's victory was determined by their higher T20 rankings, making it their debut Asian Games win.
In hockey, the women's team secured the bronze medal by defeating Japan with a scoreline of 2-1. The early goal in the 5th minute was canceled out by Japan. However, in the final quarter, India’s deflection over the Japanese goalkeeper sealed their victory. This victory marks India's fourth bronze medal in women's hockey at the Asian Games, with previous being in Seoul 1986, Doha 2006, and Incheon 2014.
On the other hand, wrestler Deepak Punia secured a silver medal in the men’s 86kg freestyle wrestling division. India’s wrestling team concluded with a total of six medals, including five bronze. Punia faced a tough opposition against Iran’s Olympic champion Hassan Yazdani. Notably, he had previously won gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
Archers, Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Pravin Deotale, clinched gold medals in the women's and men's individual compound categories, respectively. Abhishek Verma earned a silver in men's individual compound, and Aditi Swami triumphed with a bronze in the women's individual compound.
