India's Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, Piyush Goyal and Gina Raimondo, US Secretary of Commerce virtually conducted a review of the India-US CEO (chief executive officer) Forum.
At the meeting, Goyal emphasized on the growing convergence of perspectives and strategic interests India and the United States, pointing at the role of initiatives like the QUAD, and Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) in fostering regional and global cooperation in critical and emerging sectors.
He encouraged the attendees to make use of platforms such as the Semiconductor Supply Chain and Innovation Partnership, Innovation Handshake, India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor and Global Biofuels Alliance to collaborate.
Key topics including supply chain cooperation across pharma, semiconductors, critical minerals and energy; collaborative opportunities in green tech and scaling up manufacturing for clean tech; strengthening partnership in critical and emerging technologies; and bilateral industry led skilling programs including STEM exchange were discussed a news release noted.

Secretary Raimondo welcomed four new members from the U.S. industry including Honeywell, Pfizer, Kyndryl, and Viasat as part of the CEO Forum. She urged the Forum “to seize the current momentum and implement the pivotal recommendations outlined by the Forum members,” the release said.
The Forum, comprising of CEOs from leading Indian and U.S.-based companies, is co-chaired by Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran, and Lockheed Martin president and chief executive officer James Taiclet.
Both the Government representatives and industry leaders reaffirmed their commitment towards efforts that will strengthen commercial and trade ties, laying the groundwork for concrete initiatives to be unveiled at the upcoming CEO Forum meeting in early 2024.
