India and the United States on April 1 will commence a 13-day tri-services military exercise, focusing on humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) along the eastern seaboard.
The fourth edition of the bilateral exercise, ‘Tiger Triumph’, aims to enhance interoperability in disaster response and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for establishing a Combined Coordination Center (CCC).

"The CCC would enable rapid and smooth coordination between Indian and US Joint Task Forces during exercises and crisis as well as contingencies," the Indian Navy said in a statement.
The Indian contingent will include naval ships INS Jalashwa, Gharial, Mumbai, and Shakti, along with integral helicopters, landing crafts, and Long-Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft P8I. The Army will participate with troops from the 91 Infantry Brigade and 12 Mechanised Infantry Battalion, while the Air Force will deploy C-130 aircraft, MI-17 helicopters, and the Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT). The US will be represented by Navy ships USS Comstock and USS Ralph Johnson, with embarked Marine troops.
The exercise will begin with a Harbour Phase in Visakhapatnam from April 1 to 7, featuring a joint flag parade, media interaction, training visits, subject matter expert exchanges, sports events, and social interactions.
Following this, the Sea Phase off Kakinada will include maritime, amphibious, and HADR operations. A joint command and control center will be established at the Kakinada Naval Enclave by the Indian Army and US Marines, while the IAF RAMT and US Navy medical teams will set up a joint medical camp for humanitarian assistance.
The exercise will conclude with a closing ceremony aboard USS Comstock on April 13 in Visakhapatnam.
