India wins U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 by defeating SA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and cricket legends praised India’s U19 Women’s team for their teamwork and determination in clinching the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 title.

India’s U19 Women’s cricket team won the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025, successfully defending their title with an exciting victory. 

The Indian cricket team won the championship by defeating South Africa in the final on Feb. 2. South Africa batted first and scored 112/8 in 20 overs, with Jemma Botha and Simone Lourens contributing 25 and 22 runs. India successfully chased down the target, reaching 113/2 in just 15 overs. 

Captain Niki Prasad led the way with 45 not out, and Mithila Vinod supported with 30 runs. This victory marked India’s second consecutive U19 Women’s T20 World Cup win.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the team, saying, “Immensely proud of our Nari Shakti! Congratulations to the Indian team for emerging victorious in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025. This victory is the result of our excellent teamwork as well as determination and grit. It will inspire several upcoming athletes. My best wishes to the team for their future endeavours.” He also praised the success of women’s sports in India.
