Kabir ‘Kabeezy’ Singh, an Indian-American comedian who rose to fame during Season 16 of America’s Got Talent, has passed away at the age of 39.
The news was confirmed by his close friend and fellow comedian, Jeremy Curry, in an emotional Facebook post. He paid tribute to Singh reflecting on their bond.
“Kabir was so much more than a friend; he was my little brother. He would make me laugh as much as he frustrated me. He was a generational talent with a huge heart,” Curry wrote in an Instagram post.
Born in Portland, Oregon, to Indian parents, Kabir Singh is a comedian celebrated for his sharp humor and relatable storytelling. His performances on America's Got Talent in 2021, where he earned standing ovations and reached the semi-finals, introduced him to a wider audience. However, Singh had already built a strong reputation in the comedy scene, headlining clubs across the U.S., U.K., and Canada.
He has been featured on platforms like Amazon Prime, Family Guy, Fox's Laughs, and Gabriel Iglesias' Stand Up Revolution on Comedy Central.
His comedy special, Stay Single, is highly praised on Dry Bar Comedy’s YouTube channel. Singh has won notable competitions, including the San Francisco International Comedy Competition and Big Sky Comedy Festival, and was a finalist in NBC's Stand Up for Diversity.
Fans and fellow comedians have expressed their grief and shared memories of Singh’s humor and warmth.
