Indian American couple keep hopes alive for thousands of families back home
Reeling from a personal loss, Mili and Himanshu Seth spend their time making sure thousands of infants in India have access to world-class heart care

California-based Indian American couple Mili and Himashu Seth,recently launched the initial phase of the Saloni Heart Centre (SHC), a premier pediatric cardiac health facility in Lucknow, India. The center, named after their late daughter Saloni, who was born in India with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD), will address the pressing issue of CHD which affects 240,000 children annually in India.
Its launch is a collaborative effort between the US-based Saloni Heart Foundation, the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Science (SGPGIMS), and the Paediatric Cardiac Center team at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, California.

Initially housing 30 pre- and post-surgery beds, 6 ICU beds, and 1 operating theatre within SGPGIMS, plans are to expand to a 200-bed super specialty center capable of performing 5,000 life-saving surgeries and providing medical management for 10,000 cases annually.
