As an Assemblymember, Dr. Patel plans to address key issues such as public safety, expanding healthcare access, improving education funding, protecting reproductive rights, and tackling homelessness.

Her extensive public service includes serving as President of the Poway Unified School District Board and leading the San Diego County School Boards Association. She also worked with the San Diego Police Department’s Captain’s Advisory Board and held leadership roles in local planning and community councils. Additionally, she served on the California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs, where she championed policies promoting inclusion and opportunity.
