Congressman Tom Emmer, named "Tiny Thinkers," an educational app designed by Indian American students Suditya Singh of Blaine and Muskan Singh of Eden Prairie, as the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District.

Designed to help children with autism develop social and emotional skills, the app uses interactive videos and quizzes to promote learning for children with autism. The innovative design impressed judges, highlighting the potential for technology to support education and inclusivity, a release stated.

“In our increasingly digital world, supporting science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills opens new doors for young students. We are always impressed by the innovation and promise shown by Sixth District students and are encouraged to see young people using the power of technology to help fellow Minnesotans and their communities. Congratulations to Muskan and Suditya,” Congressman Emmer said.

As part of their achievement, "Tiny Thinkers" will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year and featured on the House of Representatives website. The creators will also attend the HouseOfCode Capitol Hill reception in Washington, D.C., where they will present their app alongside other national winners.

The Congressional App Challenge, launched by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2015, aims to foster interest in coding and STEM education. Students from across the country compete by creating original desktop, web, or mobile applications. The challenge encourages young innovators to explore coding and develop solutions for real-world problems.
