The Indian American Impact Fund, a national organization that amplifies the voices of Indian Americans, South Asians, and other historically excluded communities, launched a Postcard Program to boost voter turnout in the upcoming elections.
The striking postcards with South Asian artist-created artwork and slogans like “Hum honge Kamalayaab” are meant to connect with South Asian voters on a personal level. "Handwritten postcards have been shown to significantly boost voter turnout by adding a personal touch," the organization said.
As part of the initiative, the organization is encouraging individuals to order these complimentary postcards and organize postcard-writing events. "We supply the postcards, the list of addresses in swing states, and sample messages—you just provide the stamps and mail them out," the organization noted in a recent post on Facebook.
In addition to the postcard program, the Indian American Impact Fund is encouraging participation in phone banks and canvassing efforts. "These activities can lead to important conversations that drive voter engagement," the Fund emphasized.
The launch coincides with the celebration of Independence Day, with the organization drawing a parallel between the struggle for freedom and the ongoing fight for representation and equity. "As we celebrate 77 years of India’s independence and Pakistan's yesterday, we’re reminded that freedom is not a one-time achievement—it’s an ongoing struggle that requires collective action, persistence, and solidarity," the Fund said.
