Indian American lawmakers reflect on 2024 achievements, extend new year greetings
Pramila Jayapal, Shri Thanedar, Ami Bera, and Raja Krishnamoorthi extended New Year wishes, highlighting 2024 accomplishments and pledging continued progress.

Indian American lawmakers marked the beginning of 2025 by sharing their New Year greetings and highlighting their legislative accomplishments over the past year.
Their messages emphasized dedication to their constituents and plans for continued progress in the coming year.
Pramila Jayapal, who represents Washington’s 7th Congressional District, in a statement on X, highlighted securing $182 million in grant funding for affordable housing, environmental projects, and the arts.
Her office also saved over $3.2 million for constituents, resolved more than 11,000 letters and calls, and assisted over 1,100 individuals with federal casework. “Together, let’s continue this work in 2025,” Jayapal stated, urging hope and determination for the future.
Shri Thanedar, the representative for Michigan’s 13th Congressional District, extended his greetings with a message of gratitude and optimism. “To everyone in MI-13, Happy New Year from Team Thanedar! It’s an honor to work for you every day, and I look forward to continuing our service for the best district in the Nation,” he shared, affirming his commitment to his district.
Ami Bera, who represents California’s 6th Congressional District, noted that his office resolved over 6,600 constituent cases, recovering more than $5 million for Sacramento County residents in 2024. Bera’s efforts also brought in over $295 million in federal funding to improve infrastructure and boost economic growth in the region.
“I’m excited about the investments we are making in the Sacramento region’s future,” Bera stated, encouraging residents to seek assistance from his office as needed.
Raja Krishnamoorthi, the representative for Illinois’ 8th Congressional District, extended heartfelt wishes for a happy and prosperous 2025.
