New Jersey-based nonpartisan media website INSIDERNJ has released its top 100 NJ policy markers 2024 list featuring Indian Americans—Parimal Garg, Amol Sinha, and Henal Patel as influential voices in law, policy, and social justice.

Parimal Garg, serving as the Chief Counsel to Governor Phil Murphy, has been recognised for his efforts in steering the administration through complex policy debates.

A Harvard Law graduate, Garg previously clerked for New Jersey Supreme Court Chief Justice Stuart Rabner. His expertise has been pivotal in managing the state budget and navigating political waters, particularly during a year marked by the contentious U.S. Senate race and the fallout from Senator Bob Menendez’s corruption scandal.

Amol Sinha, executive director of the American Civil liberties Union (ACLU) of New Jersey, was recognised for his efforts in defending civil liberties and constitutional rights. With a background in law and journalism, Sinha is highly regarded for his advocacy on issues ranging from criminal justice reform to voting rights.

Henal Patel, a former clerk for Justice Stuart Rabner, currently directs the Institute for Social Justice at the Program on Justice and Democracy at Seton Hall University. Her work focuses on advancing social justice and democratic principles within New Jersey.

Patel’s efforts are particularly relevant in a year where social justice issues have gained heightened attention amidst broader discussions of electoral fairness and political representation.

These leaders exemplify the dedication and expertise needed to navigate New Jersey's complex political landscape, advocating for policies that reflect the state's commitment to justice, democracy, and public welfare.
