In the forthcoming 2024 elections, Holly Ham, co-founder of Asians Making America Great Again (AsiansMAGA), a national alliance and political action committee (PAC), underscored the significance of voters' preference for policy over heritage.

"Kamala Harris is not just a vote because she has Asian heritage and because we're Asian heritage," Ham stated, urging Indian American voters to consider the broader implications of their electoral choices. "What has Kamala Harris done for Indians and Asian Indians? What about education rights?" she added, questioning the reliance on identity politics within the community.

She went on to state that Kamala Harris was endorsing policies like Proposition 47 in California, which called for racial quotas in universities over meritocracy. "President Trump has always been about meritocracy. Hard work and dedication should be what gets us ahead, not race or identity," she said, reinforcing the need for voters to prioritize policies that promote equal opportunities.

Ham further lauded President Trump's past policies, pointing to economic growth, tax reductions, and strengthened international relations, especially with India, under his leadership. "Under President Trump, America had great relationships, particularly with India," Ham told NIA.

She also emphasized that Trump's focus on economic prosperity and safety resonates with many Asian American voters, particularly those in the Indian American community, where entrepreneurship is highly valued. "Small businesses are truly the backbone of our great country, and President Trump has always supported them," she said.

“What gets us ahead is hard work and meritocracy. Not because we can check a box and not because of the color of our skin, the shape of our eyes or our heritage,” Ham asserted.

Highlighting the significance of Asian American voters as a key swing demographic in battleground states, Ham stated that AsianMAGA aims to target and mobilize Asian American conservatives and moderates in these regions across multiple ethnic groups—including Chinese, Indian, Korean, Vietnamese, and Filipinos—to support President Trump's re-election bid.

The coalition has already started multiple Asian language campaigns to effectively address the key concerns of Asian American communities across various states.

"We've seen for the last three and a half years that some of their policies have really hurt Asian Americans," Ham stated, noting the challenges faced by Asian Americans under the Biden-Harris administration. "We are focusing on reaching out to those communities most affected by the current administration's policies," she explained.
