India's Consul General in New York, Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, recently met with leaders of prominent U.S. academic institutions to explore and enhance bilateral collaborative efforts in education, technology, and innovation.
In a meeting with Jeremy Weinstein, dean of Harvard Kennedy School, discussions centered on ongoing and potential partnerships between the institution and Indian entities, aiming to deepen academic exchanges and policy research cooperation.

At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Consul General Pradhan met with Anantha Chandrakasan, dean of the School of Engineering, to explore technology and innovation partnerships between the Indian government and academic institutions in both countries.

The visit included a roundtable discussion with MIT faculty, staff, and Corporation members, as well as demonstrations of advancements in MIT.nano, drone technology, and artificial intelligence.
Consul General Pradhan, a career diplomat of the 2002 batch of the Indian Foreign Service, has previously held significant positions, including High Commissioner of India to Tanzania and Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India, Moscow. He assumed his current role in New York on Jan. 15, 2024.
In his tenure, he has actively engaged with the Indian American community, emphasizing the importance of their contributions to the U.S.-India relationship. In a recent interaction, he stated, "I would like to listen from you about what you expect the consulate to do, what you think the consulate has been doing right, what we have been doing wrong and your vision of your own consulate."
