Indian Defense Minister meets US National Security Advisor, leading defense firms
During the meeting, which was preceded by a bilateral meeting with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Singh discussed several important regional security challenges as well as the changing geopolitical landscape.

India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh met the US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the White House in Washington DC on Aug. 23, 2024.
During the meeting, which was preceded by a bilateral meeting with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Singh discussed several important regional security challenges as well as the changing geopolitical landscape.
Singh and Sullivan also talked about possible areas of cooperation between the two nations' industries and the existing defense-related industrial collaboration projects between the US and India.

Later in the day, Singh also engaged in conversation with top executives from the US defense industry during a roundtable hosted in Washington, DC, by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum.
Leading US defense and technology companies such as General Electric Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, etc were present at the roundtable.
Rajnath Singh emphasized that India is prepared with a strong pro-FDI and pro-business ecosystem, a sizable domestic market, and a talented human resource base.
He said that India welcomes US investment and technology collaboration.
Singh also expressed India’s intent to develop close collaboration with the US in all areas of defense to strengthen capabilities and forge a long-lasting industrial and technological alliance that can handle new challenges.

Subsequently, the US-India Business Council delegation also briefly hosted by the Defence Minister.
Singh arrived in Washington on August 22 on a four-day visit that is being closely watched as India is negotiating deals worth billions of dollars with the US, including the purchase of the General Atomics MQ-9B remotely piloted aircraft systems and the joint production of GE F414 engines in the country.
