CaratLane, an Indian jewelry retailer that specializes in lightweight, everyday fine jewelry, has opened its first international store in New Jersey, expanding its operations beyond India.
This development marks a step toward making contemporary Indian jewelry available globally while strengthening its ties with the Indian diaspora in the United States. The store was officially launched on Oct. 27, with an inauguration ceremony held on Nov. 19.
The event was attended by Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, Consul General of India in New York, and Wesley Matthews, resident of Choose New Jersey. Speaking on the occasion, Saumen Bhaumik, managing director and CEO of CaratLane, said, "This is a significant moment for CaratLane. While we’ve catered to US customers through our online platform, this store provides an in-person experience, offering a more complete service for our customers abroad."
The New Jersey store features CaratLane’s jewelry collections, including diamond mangalsutras and other pieces designed for everyday wear. Personalized engraving services are also offered at the store, aiming to meet diverse customer preferences.
CaratLane, which operates over 300 stores in India, was founded in 2008 to bridge the gap between exquisite jewelry meant for special occasions and everyday wear, making diamond jewelry accessible and affordable.
