Indian-origin engineer wins $1 million in Singapore lucky draw

Indian-origin project engineer Balasubramanian Chithambaram living in Singapore became an overnight millionaire after purchasing a gold chain for his wife.

Chithambaram’s purchase on Nov. 24 from Mustafa Jewellery Singapore, a prominent local store, qualified him for a lottery scheme run by the retailer. Days later, he was announced as the winner of the Grand Lucky Draw, taking home an incredible prize of US$ 1 million ( INR 8.46 crore).



Mustafa Jewellery celebrated the announcement on its Facebook page, calling the journey an "incredible experience" made possible by the loyal support of its customers. The retailer expressed gratitude to its patrons and vowed to continue creating memorable milestones.
