British YouTuber of Indian origin, Arun Rupesh Maini, widely known as Mrwhosetheboss, has set a new Guinness World Record for constructing the largest smartphone replica. The massive iPhone 15 Pro Max stands over two meters tall, making it the largest of its kind.

Maini, a prominent tech content creator, collaborated with Matthew Perks, also known as DIYPerks, to build the functioning replica. The smartphone, aside from its imposing size, is fully operational, boasting features like a working camera, flashlight, charging port, and the ability to send messages, scroll, and run apps.

“It feels like a full circle moment. I’m so proud of both our team and Matt for pulling off what’s never been done before,” Maini told the Guinness World Record, adding, “Growing up, I would disappear into the library for hours to read the latest Guinness World Records books, so to achieve an award myself feels absolutely surreal.”

Maini, who began his YouTube journey in 2011, has garnered millions of subscribers with his tech reviews. The giant iPhone was created as a way to celebrate surpassing Apple in YouTube subscribers, marking a milestone in his career.

Maini was born in Nottingham, England to a British father and an immigrant mother from India. His mother came to the UK when she was fifteen years old. Maini went to regular English school during the week and to a Hindi school on the weekends to learn the second language. He later attended Nottingham High School and went on to study economics at the University of Warwick.
