Indian diaspora members, business leaders, and international experts gathered at Stanford University for the "Indiaspora AI Summit," lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strategic vision that positions India as a global hub for Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Participants highlighted the PM’s deep understanding of AI's transformative potential, particularly in sectors crucial for social development and inclusive growth like agriculture, healthcare, and education.

The summit, attended by CEOs, managing directors, technocrats, and researchers from various sectors, featured prominent figures such as US Ambassador Eric Garcetti and billionaire Romesh Wadhwani.

It celebrated India’s remarkable economic growth recognizing the nation’s ascent as a technology powerhouse and a preferred destination for startups. Vani Kola of Kalaari Capital commended Modi’s policies for creating a business-friendly environment that catalyzed India’s transformation into a leading startup nation.

Ajay Shah, co-head of TMT Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank, San Francisco said, "India has taken the bull by its horns and focused on how AI can be a disruptive technology for India's growth story. Rather than focusing on the potential negative aspects of AI, India is dwelling on the positives; if AI can be appropriately used for right application then it can deliver significant results.”

Priya Ramachandran, founder and managing partner Foster Ventures who originally hails from Bangalore in Karnataka, India, said, “Over the past decade, we have transitioned from looking inward to looking outwards, and creating a platform that empowers every individual in India and across the world. It has contributed to India’s evolution into a nation that is respected and promotes women and people from all sectors, fostering nationwide equity and equality.”

Rohit Jain, CIO of Harvard Business School Alumni Association, said, “India is leading the way in technology globally today. We think that Silicon Valley is the center for technology but for AI, India is the global center.”
