India's Yogesh Singh won the men's 25m standard pistol event at the Asian Shooting Championships 2024 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Singh secured the gold medal with a score of 572, showing consistency across all stages.
Mongolian shooter Davaakhuu Enkhtaivan claimed the silver medal, while Kazakhstan's Nikita Chiryukin secured the bronze.
In the team event, the Indian trio of Singh, Amit Kumar, and Om Prakash clinched another gold, leading the standings with a tally of 1690-34x.
Singh continued to win another gold in the 25m center fire pistol event, scoring 573 - 288 in the precision stage and 285 in the rapid stage. Oman's Muad Al Balushi claimed the silver, while Indonesia's Anang Yulianto secured the bronze.
Other Indian players, including Pankaj Yadav, finished fourth with 567, Akshay Jain, stood sixth with 564 points, and Rakesh Suresh Kadam, stood in the eighth spot with a score of 560, made their country proud.
The trio of Singh, Yadav, and Jain, claimed the top position in the men's 25m centre fire pistol team standings with 1704-35x.
So far, India has a total of 33 medals, including 15 gold, 10 silver, and eight bronze.
