A 25-year-old Indian-origin student pursuing post-graduation in the US, was brutally murdered at a store in Lithonia, Georgia.

Vivek Saini, was allegedly attacked by Julian Faulkner, a homeless individual fighting drug addiction, who found refuge within the store’s premises. Saini, who worked at the store as a part-time clerk, had been helpful to  Faulkner, offering snacks, beverages, and a jacket for warmth during the cold weather.

However, the situation took a tragic turn on January 16. Expressing safety concerns, Saini urged Faulkner to leave the store or face police intervention, when the latter ruthlessly assaulted him with a hammer, striking him nearly 50 times, as per an M9 news channel report.

Saini moved to the US from the northern Indian state of Haryana to study for a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). Having completed his B Tech degree back home, he had recently finished his post-graduation.

Described by his family as a dedicated student aspiring for a prosperous career, Saini’s sudden demise has left his parents, Gurjeet Singh and Lalita Saini, shattered.

Authorities swiftly responded to the distress call, and upon arrival at the scene, they discovered Faulkner standing over Saini’s lifeless body.
Meanwhile, further investigation is underway to ascertain the full extent of the events leading to Saini’s demise.
