A federal judge has temporarily blocked the Trump administration from canceling the visa of Krish Lal Isserdasani, a 21-year-old undergraduate student from India at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, just weeks before he was set to graduate.

The abrupt visa revocation came to light on Apr.4, when Isserdasani, who has been pursuing a degree in computer engineering since 2021, was informed by UW-Madison’s International Student Services office that his visa had been canceled. The cancellation meant his authorization to remain in the U.S. would end on May.2, eight days before his scheduled graduation. The news arrived without any prior notice from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or the State Department.
