The Consulate General of India in Chicago, in partnership with the Global Indian Diaspora Foundation, recently hosted an Indian National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) Small And Medium Enterprises (SME) delegation, to spotlight India’s growing influence in the Deep Tech sector.
The event, which featured 18 leading Indian Information technology (IT) firms, including SPARC (GIS technology), Ahana Systems (digital transformation), and Millipixels (digital strategy), aimed to showcase the country’s technological prowess and foster cross-border collaborations. A diverse audience of industry leaders, policymakers, and tech enthusiasts attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Consul General of India in Chicago Somnath Ghosh highlighted the India-U.S. synergy in critical technologies, stating, “From AI to green technology, the India-U.S. partnership in critical and emerging technologies is creating unprecedented business opportunities. Sustainability and innovation remain at the heart of our collaboration.”
Global Indian Diaspora Foundation president Rakesh Malhotra emphasized Chicago’s strategic value as a launchpad for Indian enterprises, citing its vibrant ecosystem, diverse talent, and robust infrastructure. “Chicago bridges Indian enterprises with North America, fostering mutual growth,” Malhotra said.
Companies like Mu Sigma, based in Chicago, a decision science leader, exemplified the transformative potential of Indian startups in Chicago’s tech ecosystem. Other firms such as Cognition IES, EC Infosolutions, and Jellyfish Technologies presented innovative solutions spanning industrial automation, AI, and user experience design.
Abhinav Raina, general secretary of the Global Indian Diaspora Foundation, dubbed the event as a catalyst for global partnerships, noting its potential to redefine global tech standards.”This event demonstrated India’s commitment to fostering global partnerships and advancing technological excellence,” he said.
