India ended its campaign at the Special Olympics World Games 2023 held in Berlin with an impressive tally of 202 medals across events. The Special Olympics is is a sporting event much like the Olympics for people with intellectual disabilities.
India’s record-breaking tally of 202 medals overall (76 gold, 75 silver, and 51 bronze) filled the nation with pride. The athletes brought home a total of 6 medals from the track and field competitions, including 2 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze. The highlight was Aanchal Goyal and Ravimathi Arumugam gold medal wins in the 400 m Level B and Level C events. Saket Kundu earned two medals—a silver in the small javelin Level B and a bronze in the 400 m Level B.
