India’s largest airline low-cost carrier IndiGo added a new international destination to its network with the commencement of operations to Almaty, Kazakhstan, marking its 32nd international and 111th overall destination.
With the commencement of flights from September 23, IndiGo will operate thrice-weekly flights between Delhi and Almaty. The airline aims to bring India closer to Kazakhstan, significantly improving accessibility and serving as a vital gateway for business travellers seeking access to Central Asia’s prominent financial hub, according to a release by Indigo.
“We are delighted to be starting flights from Delhi to Almaty, Kazakhstan. Almaty is the major commercial, financial, and cultural centre of Kazakhstan, as well as its most populous and most cosmopolitan city. The launch of this new route will bolster our expanding international network and, more importantly, enhance our connectivity to Central Asia. It further signifies IndiGo’s dedication to connecting people and places, fostering global connections, and enriching travel adventures. IndiGo remains dedicated to providing affordable, on-time, and hassle-free travel experiences across its extensive 6E network,” Vinay Malhotra, head of global sales, at IndiGo, said.
