Indo-US Conference to focus on future wireless systems
The first session of the conference will address the spectrum landscape below 1 GHz and the pivotal role it plays in the direct broadcast of television channels to mobiles.

The third India Spectrum Management Conference will be hosted by the non-profit IAFI (ITU- APT Foundation of India), the University of Chicago, Spectrum X, and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. The event will be held from October 16 to 18, at UChicago Delhi Center.
The Indo-US conference will focus on spectrum and telecommunications policy and technology for future wireless systems. The inaugural address will be delivered by Dr Monisha Ghosh, professor of electrical engineering, University of Notre Dame, USA and Bharat Bhatia, president, IAFI.
According to a press statement the formal inauguration of the event on October 17, 2023, is expected to be addressed by Devusinh Chauhan, Minister of State (Gujarat) for Communications of India; Neeraj Mittal, Secretary of Department of Telecommunications, and Chairman Digital Communications Commission (DCC); professor Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology (DST); and Manish Sinha, Member, Finance.
Attendees at the event include Charles Cooper, associate administrator, Office of Spectrum Management, National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), USA; VJ Christopher, Wireless Advisor to Indian Government; and Madeleine Noland, president, Advanced Television Systems Committee Inc., USA.
Various topics such as the spectrum landscape below 1 GHz and the pivotal role it plays in the direct broadcast of television channels to mobiles, Program Making and Studio Equipment (PMSE) as well as the new 600 MHz cellular mobile band and new technologies, will be discussed at the event.
