Indo-American votes in focus as FIIDS launches nationwide survey
The FIIDS survey will gather opinions on both domestic and international policy matters important to the Indo-American community.

US-based advocacy organisation, the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS) has initiated the Indo American Votes Matter campaign and a comprehensive survey aimed at increasing the political influence of Indo-American voters in the 2024 U.S. elections.
With approximately 4.5 million Indo-Americans across the United States, the initiative underscores the critical role this community could play in key swing states like Florida, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.
“With a sizable population in swing states crucial to the presidential elections, Indian-Americans have a unique opportunity to make an impact,” said Khanderao Kand, chief of Policy and Strategy at FIIDS. “Their policy issues and preferences should be seriously considered by both the Republican and Democratic National Committees. With the voter registration campaign, we want to have at least a million-plus Indian-American voters in this election.”

The results will be shared with media, political parties, and candidates to ensure Indo-American voices are factored into the policy-making process.
FIIDS is calling on organizations and individuals to promote the survey and voter registration campaign via social media to maximize the impact. “Let’s work together to make sure every Indo-American voice is heard and every vote counts,” the organization stated.
