Ram Navami
Ram Navami is the celebration of Lord Rama’s birth anniversary observed on the ninth day of the Chaitra Navaratri or Vasanta Navratri. Hindus across all castes observe the festival celebrated on the ninth day of the Shukla Paksha, as per the first month of the Hindu calendar, Chaitra. Ram Navami usually falls in the month of March or April.
Lord Rama who is believed to be one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu, was the king of Ayodhya. He was known and worshiped for being kind, brave, obedient, and dutiful. His consort Sita and his brother Laxman are worshipped alongside him. The worship of Lord Rama is accompanied by the worship of the Sun God since he is believed to have descended from the sun. Ram Navami celebrations include reading the great Indian epic, the Ramayana, and staging plays of the Ram Leela.
