ITServe Alliance, representing the largest association of Information Technology Solutions & Services organizations in the U.S., advocated for reforms during Capitol Hill Day 2024 on Sept.18.

Over 70 ITServe members from across the country held meetings with 85 key Democrat and Republican lawmakers in support of policies supporting the IT industry, with a focus on immigration reform and workforce development.

Nayan Joshi, director of ITServe Alliance Policy Advocacy Committee (PAC), stated, "We had overwhelming support from key U.S. Representatives and Senators, including influential committee chairs, for the causes put forth by ITServe."

The event highlighted the need for high-skilled immigration reforms, including support for H.R. 4647, the High-Skilled Immigration Reform for Employment (HIRE) Act. The bill, introduced by Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, aims to address the U.S. skills gap by increasing the H-1B visa cap and creating a STEM grant program.

Jagadeesh Mosali, ITServe president, said, “This is just the beginning of ITServe’s ongoing efforts. We will be a driving force in achieving meaningful changes for small and medium businesses."

Lawmakers also recognized ITServe's contribution to the U.S. economy through technology, innovation, and STEM education. Amar Varada, ITServe governing board chair, described the event as a "historic day" for the organization, with a focus on fostering employment and economic growth in the U.S. technology sector.
