The Federation of Jain Associations in North America (JAINA), in collaboration with the Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago (JSMC), will host its 23rd biennial convention in Schaumburg, Illinois, from Jul.3 to Jul.6. Expected to draw over 5,000 attendees worldwide, the convention will focus on fostering spiritual growth, unity, and community engagement.

Held every two years, the JAINA Convention is a crucial platform for cultural exchange, spiritual discourse, and networking within the Jain community. The 2025 theme, inspired by the Jain saying Parasparopagraho Jīvānām, underscores inclusivity with the guiding principle of "Unity in Diversity: A Path to Peace."

The event will feature prominent speakers, including Abhay Firodia, chairman of Force Motors, speaking on philanthropy; Dr. Gyanvatsal Swami from Akshardham, addressing spirituality; Jessica Cox, the world's first licensed armless aviator, offering an inspirational perspective and Sagar Sheth, CEO of Roth, who will discuss leadership and success, mainly aimed at inspiring youth.

Additionally, Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni (Ahimsa Viswa Bharti, New Delhi), Saman Shrutprajna (Peace of Mind Foundation, Rajkot), Dr. Devendrakeerti Bhattaraka Swamiji (Belur, Karnataka), H.H. Sadhvi Shilapiji and Sadhvi Sanghamitraji (Veerayatan), and several disciples of Acharya Mahashraman will be present to offer spiritual guidance.

The convention aims to provide a dynamic experience for young Jains, with 475 members from Young Jain America (YJA) and Young Jain Professionals (YJP) expected to participate. Networking sessions, leadership workshops, and interactive discussions will help shape the next generation of Jain professionals and leaders.

A key highlight will be the Jain Academic Bowl (JAB), where 20 teams across North America will compete in a spirited test of Jain knowledge and traditions.

A Jain Matrimonial platform will allow young adults to connect and explore potential life partners within the community. Cultural exhibitions showcasing Jain literature, art, and heritage will give attendees a deeper appreciation of their traditions. A marketplace featuring products embodying Jain values will also be available.

Convention convenor Atul Shah and co-convenors Vipul Shah and Jignesh Jain have reported over 4,500 registrations already, with numbers expected to exceed 5,000. “Dedicated volunteers are working tirelessly to create a well-organized, enriching experience for all attendees,” they stated.

Key supporters include Manish & Shailja Gandhi, Dr. Chandra Varia, the Jagdish & Renuka Mehta family as Mahasanghpati, and Dr. Parag & Dulari Doshi, Vasant & Charulata Shah, and Atul & Dharmi Shah as Sanghpati of the convention.

"We warmly invite the global Jain community to join us in Chicago for an event that celebrates Jain philosophy, fosters connections, and strengthens our community bonds," they announced.
