California-based digital communications technology company, Cisco, has promoted Indian-American software executive Jeetu Patel to an expanded leadership role as executive vice president and chief product officer.

In this capacity, Patel will now oversee the company's integrated networking, security, and collaboration teams, reflecting Cisco's strategic emphasis on innovation and unified product development.

Patel's elevation to this broader role comes at a pivotal time for Cisco, as the company seeks to streamline its operations and deliver a more cohesive experience to its global customer base. His expanded responsibilities will also include overseeing the integration of Splunk, which was recently acquired by Cisco, into the unified product organization at the appropriate time.

Since joining Cisco four years ago, Patel has been driving significant growth in the company's security and collaboration portfolios. Under his guidance, Cisco has achieved marked success, particularly in revitalizing its collaboration business, which has seen double-digit growth in device bookings.

In the security domain, Patel has been at the forefront of innovation, spearheading the launch of Cisco Hypershield, a security solution designed to address the challenges of the AI era.

Patel graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a BS in Information Decision Sciences.
