Preparing for a live performance often comes with challenges, but for Pangaea, a student dance group at Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU-Idaho), the biggest hurdle is funding the traditional and often pricey costumes.
“Especially when it comes to cultural dances, the costumes are so much more specific,” said Catherine Purushottam, Pangaea’s founder. “You can’t just randomly ask people to wear skirts and tops. Usually, it’s somewhere around a thousand dollars.”
