Kal Penn joins ‘Industry’ season 4 cast

Strap: Penn will portray Jay Jonah Atterbury, the CEO and co-founder of Tender

Indian American actor Kal Penn joined the cast of HBO and BBC’s finance drama ‘Industry’ for the fourth season.

Penn will portray Jay Jonah Atterbury, the CEO and co-founder of Tender, a payment processing company that will feature prominently in the upcoming season.

Penn, known for his work in Designated Survivor, the Harold & Kumar film series, is one of several new additions to the ensemble cast. His character will appear alongside Max Minghella, who plays Tender's co-founder and CFO Whitney Halberstram. Minghella is best known for roles in The Social Network and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Industry, created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, follows young finance professionals navigating the cutthroat environment of international banking at the fictional Pierpoint & Co in London. The series has been noted for its focus on power, class, and ambition within the global financial sector.

Season 4 is currently in production in the UK. Alongside Penn and Minghella, new cast members include Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), Claire Forlani (Meet Joe Black), and Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), who will play Haley Clay, an executive assistant at Tender. Previously announced additions include Jack Farthing, Toheeb Jimoh, and Amy James-Kelly.

Returning cast members include Myha'la as Harper Stern, Marisa Abela as Yasmin Kara-Hanani, Ken Leung as Eric Tao, and Sagar Radia as Rishi Ramdani. Kit Harington, who joined in Season 3 as Henry Muck, will also return.

The show's third season drew a reported 40 percent increase in viewership compared to its previous season, according to Warner Bros. Discovery. No premiere date has been announced for Season 4.
