The U.P. Association of Greater Philadelphia (UPAGP) has announced Khelo Holi 2024 celebration scheduled for Apr. 20, 2024, at West Goshen Park, Philadelphia.
With an anticipated turnout exceeding 500 participants, the event aims to showcase the cultural richness of the Holi festival in a joyful and welcoming atmosphere.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of family-friendly activities, including live entertainment featuring traditional dhol beats and contemporary music for dancing.
Cultural performances highlighting the talents of both youth and adults will add to the festivities. Of course, the colorful throwing of gulal, or colored powder, will be a central element of the celebration, symbolizing friendship and reconciliation.
President of UPAGP, Ila Awasthi, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming event, emphasizing its significance in promoting unity and cultural appreciation within the community. The festival's focus on inclusivity aims to deepen understanding and respect for shared cultural heritage.
“With the success of last year’s event still fresh in our memory, we’re excited to bring an even larger celebration to our community this year,” she said.
The U.P. Association of Greater Philadelphia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the Indian community in and around Malvern, Pennsylvania. It focuses on engaging the Indian immigrant
community, preserving the cultural and literary heritage of Uttar Pradesh, and supporting socio-
economic initiatives in both India and the USA.
