Kolluri, a seasoned entrepreneur and venture capitalist with over 30 years of experience, will address the graduating cohort of Columbia Engineering, imparting wisdom gleaned from his extensive career journey, the University said in a statement.

Kolluri’s dedication to fostering positive societal impact aligns seamlessly with Columbia Engineering’s mission of “Engineering for Humanity,” the statement added.

Neotribe Ventures, which Kolluri established in 2017, is renowned for supporting entrepreneurs pioneering breakthrough technologies. Throughout his career as an investor, Kolluri has been instrumental in nurturing over 4 dozen successful companies, including Aruba Networks, Box, and Robinhood, among others.

Kolluri's professional trajectory commenced as a software engineer at Silicon Graphics, and subsequently led to his founding role at Healtheon/WebMD, a company that went public in 1999. He later served as CEO of Neoteris and held an executive position at Juniper Networks before transitioning to a General Partner role at NEA in 2006.

Dean of Columbia Engineering Shih-Fu Chang expressed enthusiasm about Kolluri's selection, stating, "Kittu Kolluri has given invaluable guidance and support to Columbia Engineering over the years, and we are fortunate to have him share his wisdom with our graduate students."

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Kolluri remarked, “It’s my honor to be chosen to speak to the graduate students of Columbia Engineering. These students have worked hard to pursue postgraduate degrees that will help them make a real impact in the world in areas where innovation is sorely needed.”

Kolluri holds a B.Tech. (M.E.) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, and an MS in operations research from SUNY, Buffalo, NY. He was named one of the Top 100 Venture Capitalists by the New York Times/CBInsights in 2016 and is regarded as one of the industry's foremost early-stage investors.
