Chicago Atlantic, a Chicago-based credit and equity-oriented investing platform, has appointed Kushal Kshirsagar, a former BlackRock executive, as managing director, Private Wealth Solutions.

In his new role, Kshirsagar will spearhead efforts to bring the firm’s private markets strategies to individual investors and their advisors. He previously held significant roles at BlackRock, including portfolio manager of US Income Models and lead UHNW portfolio strategist.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the unique opportunities at Chicago Atlantic, Kshirsagar said, “I was drawn to Chicago Atlantic’s unique mix of underwriting expertise, analytical rigor, demonstrated track record, and entrepreneurial spirit.” He emphasized the firm’s distinct position in a market where many private credit strategies are undifferentiated, noting that Chicago Atlantic’s focus on sectors with structural capital shortages allows for the potential of outsized returns.

Tony Cappell, partner at Chicago Atlantic, welcomed Kshirsagar’s addition to the team. “Dr. Kshirsagar is a remarkable talent. I’m excited to have him join our firm,” Cappell said. “I’m confident he will contribute to our continued growth in a way that benefits our individual investors, their advisors, and the companies we fund.”

Kshirsagar’s extensive background includes experience at Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS), Credit Suisse, and Vanguard. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
